Wow. So many thoughts.
Manon
Kelsey and I bought these tickets way way way back, so I have been looking forward to this show for a while and it did not disappoint. Manon (the opera) was my very first BYU main stage as a performer, so it was really special to get to see the ballet in London. The Royal Opera House is GORGEOUS.

Our Des Grieux looked just like
Matthew Goode (from a distance) and it made my heart quite happy. This show's choreography is breathtaking and heartfelt.

Motown
Everyone went to see
Twelfth Night at the Globe that night, but I wasn't going to be able to get there early enough, because of
Manon SO I bought a ticket for
Motown and WOW. I was expecting just some good Motown music and dancing; there was definitely that, but the show also moved me. The show covers the first 25 years of Motown music and explores music's role during the civil rights movement. It brought me to tears (I know, I never cry ;))- I kept thinking about music's role during that era and then its role during this era.
This was my favorite number, only in the show it's a cappella. The only thing they got wrong - and I found it pretty entertaining - was the ensemble didn't quite nail the American accents. I witnessed a transfer from a Scottish accent to a Boston accent during a single line. It was glorious. Also, the little kid that played Michael Jackson was perfection (with the accent and the singing and especially the dancing).

| I was running a little late getting there and had to hold the tube door open with my arm. Worth it. |
