brooklyn's here . . . loud and clear . . . we is HEEEERRRREEE!!!!
There is something very comforting about getting to be around art. I feel connected to other people and honestly, it just fills my soul with joy. I get to tap into the more creative side of my brain and just imagine what the people in the painting/photo are like or what the creator was thinking about when they made the piece. I love it. I visited the Brooklyn Museum and it was full of amazing pieces. They have an incredible exhibit full of documents of JR's projects. Definitely check him out. A large portion of the museum is still closed, but the 4th floor was open which features an America style selection. There were several paintings of NY in the 1800s, which is fun to think about. I love to imagine that someone walked the same road I walk 100 years ago. What were they thinking about? Were they in a rush? Who were they hoping to run into or avoid on the streets?
I also visited the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, which is a true gem and apparently a popular place for couples on Saturday afternoons. Fortunately, I am a happy solo tourist. No one knows how long to linger at each location better than myself. ;)
I organized a little photoshoot with my roomie to document living in NY for 1 month! Honestly, it has been quite a long month (but I have mostly the 2 wk quarantine to thank for that).
Really loving this city. xo.
